My $0.02 worth is that as a performance major, you should be practicing (in addition to rehearsing) 3 hours/day. I'm sure that the various ear training and analysis is helpful, but if you are substantially below that amount of practice, you might want to think about making some changes to

You've answered your own question already - the training you're receiving is helping you in ways you're aware of, and probably in ways you're not aware of as well. Trust the people who designed your program, complete it to the best of your ability, and go out into the world and practice your craft
