I agree with Kadja.
This seems to be useful work even for novice mappers. If it isn't I'm sure
we'll be told how to help better.
The basic guides and video are very good.
Adding simple, disaster-specific instructions will help a lot, but I'm sure
that will come.

Hi all,
I am convinced my mapping is useful, even as a beginner. It took some
time to go through the whole LearnOsm Guide, but it was worth it.
Questions that come up now can be answered via IRC or mailing list.

Hi
I love the new website. Congrats to all involved.
Sorry for sending to the whole list but it was unclear to me who to

Hi,
In December 2016 I found HOT by accident and started contributing. Now I

I'm looking at project 3890 which apparently was prepossessed by mapswipe.
I think the mapswipe overlay has now been removed but what I have noticed
is a number of highways in a straight line are not connected up. You get a
stretch of highway then nothing other than a faint mark on the imagery

+1 on the validation comments. I'd be more than happy to validate but
didn't know how to get started (and I'm conscious that not being a
calibrated validator would cause much pain for the organisations relying on
the data).
Would be great if there was a way for bootstrapping validators so they can
Hi Florian and all,
Thanks a lot Florian, I was also thinking about giving a similar feedback for
the Aweil project. I support Florian's suggestions and below I added some more
detailed comments about my observations during mapping.

Adding onto Arne's comments - I've seen these errors occur on various

What that pattern immediate
It was apparent on at least a dozen tiles with different mappers. One
classic one was a highway that ran top right to bottom left, four segments
of highway and three of no highway and that sort of matched the pattern on
the tile view in TM. Several places where the image was a bit darker the

***Quick Summary***
Students from the University of Colorado at Boulder are working on a class
project that is looking at possible design enhancements to version 2.0 of
the Tasking Manager. We’re focusing on macro-level themes and would love
your contribution and feedback.
Hello Team!
One of the first deliverables from last month's Board of Directors meeting in
Washington was a draft "organizational strategy" for the Humanitarian
OpenStreetMap Team for the coming twelve months.

Hi Monique,
First of all, this looks awesome.
FYI, I'm the main developer of the tasking manager for both V1 and
V2. And I would be really happy to get help from you and the others
students in order to improve the tasking manager, and increase its
usefulness.
I have several questions to begin wit

This is excellent, and brilliant timing! I wanted to just flag quickly what's

Hello All,
I wanted to ask a couple of questions and perhaps contribute a little to
the discussion on external GPS use.
The first item I wanted to ask about is the notion of accuracy. I'm not
clear if the positional accuracy of an external bluetooth GPS is any
greater than the accuracy of a smartp
