Hi,
You might have read in a few emails I was hoping to put up some
satellite imagery that shows things we often map in W. Africa.
Originally and still mainly, I wanted some examples of schools and roads
of different types.
I am open to any suggestions for things to include and if you find

Now that sounds like an excellent idea; however, wouldn't it be of
more value if we'd also collect good examples in a Wiki and preferably
include pictures from the ground, if available? (Must not necessarily
be the same physical object, just a look a like).

from Mapbox? Or can we just deep-link it (e.g. using openlayers)?

I find it particularly difficult to recognize buildings in the Monrovia tasks.
Issues include telling apart garden areas from houses with patchworked roof,
recognizing houses with grass roofs or houses under trees.

I'm hoping you can come up with a way of sharing the screenshots on
these subjects. As well as the wiki or LearnOSM article you develop, the
basic screenshots could be of enormous help for those who produce items
on twitter, facebook, press articles, slideshows for presentations etc..
Some pictures on the Africa highways wiki page wouldn't hurt either.
Quite often, a road can look too narrow to be classified as "unclassified",
so people put "path" on it. But that's in a lot of cases because the
treetop makes it seem narrow, but at the bottom, it's wide enough for

and hamlets in West Africa. I started to collect those I could localize and
associate with a tag. Only primary roads so far. Some from DRC.

You mean those squiggly little lines that go E-W'ish?
They are not rivers or streams. They are roads or paths but that is one
of my questions too and the reason I want to make the little reference
for roads in Africa.

thank you for your effort in driving this forwrd. I really like the
style and content on this one! One thing that perhaps might be helpful
is a zoomed in cutout of one of the villages, to underline how tight
"tightly outlined" should be.
