I see that you are not the only one long time user who has problems with maps. I have never managed to stitch any map in Hugin, while I stitch and straighten many photos every day. Even when the control points are placed correctly, the projection distorts every map. Even when the projection is

Peter, You seem to have created a very good stitch and I don’t think I can make any suggestions that will help you improve it. What I would mention, more for another time than because it will make any noticeable difference here, is that, if you are adding h and v control points to ensure that
