I heard tapes can be defined as nonSMS or SMS when using DLm.
What are the +/- of each?
Any heads up as what to do or not when moving to DLm (setup, design, config,
DR, HSM, ...) ?
Also, if use 2 DLm (Primary & DR site), what kind of problems should one watch

My client has Raid DASD in remote site, being used/accessed by local(MVS1) &
remote(MVS2) systems.
Say DASD is hooked to 3 ports of Brocade-2 in the remote site.

My client used to have 2 CEC, 1 for prod, 1 for other LPARs.
They used to turn on CoD for prod & all was fine in other LPARs.
Now they have moved all LPARs to one Z10. But when CoD is turned on, some
3P SW on non-prod LPAR stop working.
Is there a way to, in effect, turn on CoD for 1 LPAR

My client had 2 CF on Z9 : CF01, CF02.
They replaced CF01 with another one on a Z10.
They did:
move data to old CF02:
SETXCF START,REBUILD,CFNAME=(CF01),LOCATION=OTHER
activate a new CFRM Policy to say CF01 was on Z10.
move back data to new CF01:
SETXCF START,REBUILD,POPCF=CF01

My client has a Z9 Z02 (2 CP, 130 MSU).
They can activate CoD in Aug, but not on Sep-1 (end of
marketing/support/...);
but they 'may' need to do it.
CoD will change it to Z03 (3 CP, 189 MSU).
So the idea is to:
CAP the machine to 130 MSU,
activate CoD;
then IFF need more juice on Sep-1

When we get a few big sort jobs running, our page DS %use increases.
Which cause workflow to drop.
Page %USE doesn't drop much, but it can go up if we get another run of a
few big sort jobs later.
After a month, we could end up with %USE of 25 (with 3-4 big concurrent
SORT runs)

A friend made a very good point that many sysprogs lost their jobs in
OZ due to outsourcing; like one company had 8 SP, then outsourced, &
eventually ended up with 2 SP supporting a few sites.
