I would just like a quick confirmation that the following will not cause

All id did was run an ickdsf job (init) with the STGR parameter.

that it has no relevance. If you would like to manage the file during

One other thing, your file is apparantly rather large. An Index CIsize of 1K
will guarantee a high number of Index Levels resulting in a relatively poor
level of performance.
Increase the data CI to 8K and the Index to 4K. That should keep your Index
levels to 2 or 3.

The change you made was to an SCDS. SMS operates from an ACDS. You
need an activate to copy from the former to the latter. The validate is
for peace of mind/job security/proof reading/etc.
I think that SMS requires that a SCDS be validated before it can be
activated.

When I perform a LISTCAT of a specific dsn it does not show the STORAGE GROUP
in the SMSDATA field. The dsn is SMS managed and it is being directed
correctly to the proper volume. I have the auditors here and I need to prove
that the correct STORAGE GROUP is being flagged. I
