Even if you could find a drive, I'm not sure the media would be readable, 5,10
years tops, 1600 bpi , you may have better luck than 6250.
has the tape(media) been in a controlled environment the entire time? and even
if it has. I'd be curious if you can... good luck !

Tommy,
This is not a science, but an art. So it takes time and study and adjustments
to get WLM where you want it.
The first phase is understanding how WLM works. This written up in many
manuals. It is not quick to learn. If you have a sandbox where you can work
things out, that would be

I am interesting how the WLM manages the number of initiators based upon

Yes it does. It's the "R" action character in (E)JES. I never cared to look
what the resulting JES3 command is.

Humm, IBM/DSFSMS maybe?
I guess it depends on if you are trying to address a system wide problem, or
some nuisances dealing with space issues.
I've seen a couple shops reduce software cost getting rid of some if these

John,
I'm glad you brought up optical media. Here at the bank, we have no CD
drives, and USB is disabled. So today with internet serverpac delivery, the
optional materials also come as CD/DVD images.I find that extremely
cumbersome. I have neither the NAS space or the time to download

I am asking specifically about order turnaround time for ServerPac

Submitted the job to run overnight.

John,
I am spoiled. I expect it to be ready for download within minutes or a few
hours. Yesterday, a ten gigabyte RSU1709 took ten minutes to send me the
package details. I submitted the RFN and it took almost seven hours to
download. That is my expectation. :-)

You are describing what appears to be on the surface, normal WLM behavior.
You should note that XEQCOUNT is a max allowed, not a minimum.
Possible reasons for WLM not starting additional jobs/initiators:
1) XEQCOUNT is a maximum and is enforced by JES, not WLM and is thus
irrelevant to

Weeks is fine by me. I always order earlier than needed anyway. What's the
rush, anyway? CBPDO's on the other hand already come out pretty quick, unless
you are waiting on a licensing issue.
