A VVDS is created automatically with the 1st allocation that requires it, which is any dataset if the volume is SMS managed or a VSAM dataset if the volume is not. I know it’s really not a big issue anymore, but I still use IDCAMS to define a VVDS after I do the ICKDSF. And then I do the FDR in
