You only need single tn3270 session if you use a kind of session manager.
Once you are in, it wil use cross domain to connect to other lpars.

This is a program a vendor develop to protect his ip. It can be cpu serial
limited, model or time. If your interest is time, just compare machine time
with a value in your program. Stck (or $stck macro) will store the clock
value.

Hello Mac users...
I am using macbook to connect to our (and client's) mainframes. I do not
want to change the keyboard map in the emulation product. what is the
keyboard mapping for enter, ph11 and pf12?

If you copy the jcl to another PDS you can use the “j” (submit) command which
does not use temporary dataset for job submission. Never tested myself, but it
probably works with sequential datasets as well.

If to summerise this issue, submit is the only way to do jcl check. As for
the security check, dynalloc is not helpfull. Security checks should be at
the level required by the application (according to open attributes). This
is not a problem once jcl was fully converted.

Just my two cents... there are many reasons why a supported and updated version
is important, and why mainframe is just an other (big, complex) server in the
computer room.
Linux on z: servers that were located in DMZ, now running on z usually without
fw ("because it slows communication").

Usually Rexx returns a value if called as a function. This is not the case as
systemrexx mostly called asynchronous (f axr, xxx) or from health checker. A
Rexx call is special in that it has output variables that are mapped in your
program, but the Rexx executes in a different address space.

Getmain (in private area as you described) in not a real memory frame
(which is the term for real memory 4k). It get the key based on the subpool
you specify in the macro. So, in short, it is only visible through your
asid page tables.
Once your asid ends, so does the page tables. This is why
Resolver is a kind of dns forwarder. This is just a front-end to your dns
that usually runs outside of the mainframe. The only dns redolution it make
is those defined in hosts file.
