Does anyone know if it is possible to hook an IBM 3490-F01 tape drive to the new z9 BC series processors? (The F01 has a SCSI attachment). Just out of curiosity, are you thinking of using it with CMS applications like VM:Backup or with Linux images? I was thinking of using it for DDR

You may want to check out Bustech's MAS. It emulates a tape Library and you can attach real SCSI drives to it. Attaches via ESCON or FICON. Zachary Jones City of Grand Rapids, Mi Operations On Fri, 2007-01-26 at 09:08 -0500, Alan Altmark wrote: On Friday, 01/26/2007 at 07:48 CST, Ed Zell

Ed, you'll need some sort of intermediate device to plug the 3490-F01 into, as the z9-BC doesn't have any SCSI connectors on it. And CP certainly would not support the 3490 as a native tape device. Good luck though..I have heard a rumor that a few years back, IBM managed to hook up a DVD
