Akal-tekes come in a variety of colors including perlino, palamino, buckskin, bay, and the really popular golden chestnut color (I don't know if they call it anything different). Thet all "glow" but some colors look better than others. The glow has to do with the structure of their hair. Cher

when I saw an akhel teke it was at a horse expo for breed demo and my exact thought when i laid eyes on it "my gosh someone has brought a broke down scrawney rescue horse up here and somehow polished it up". It looked about like my Gallant Boy. All bones and a scrawney neck. Janice-- yipie tie yie

I have seen an akhel teke in person twice, two different ones, and altho there may be shade variations horse to horse that I am unaware of, this is not the akhel Teke color I saw. Akhal Tekes don't have to be any particular color, although that metallic coppery color is the one people usually
