with the cursor for sometime.
The problem is that, when i type into the terminal
or type a mail,suddenly the cursor jumps back a few
words and this is very irritating.It gets the text all

its got more to do with getting the dynamic ip automatically from the ISP,
and browser getting it properly.
Try doin ifconfig and jot down the ip,subnet mask,default gateway etc..

I recently installed ubuntu ultimate edition 2.0 on a friends laptop
and it booted fine for the first few times.But now it refuses to load
grub at all and gives nothing but an error 17.I tried reinstalling
grub from a live cd but it did not help at all.

rest an extended partition. Extended partitions are easier
to manage and can be partitioned several times .Otherwise
you can only only have 4 partitions in total.

y, its definitely not very difficult to spoof your MAC id and pose
as someone else :D and as for password protection in a college i'd say
that's a joke. IMHO ,in a college environment better put an open network
accessible to everyone.
