Friends,
I think you people don't understand why i posted such a question , This just
because a lot of students have to use it in our college labs. These
colleges are using it because they need to do graphics programs in c++
,most of the college staff are familiar with
TC's graphics.h and are

and you can use opengl. It does have giant library for extreme graphics and
far better than turbo C++. You can use that library in windows and linux.

Learning basic drawing api's is required for a computer science course i
believe. Try using Allegro libraries and gcc instead of GTK/QT etc. The idea
here is to get familiar with graphics alkgorithms rather than creating a game
or a gui application.
@Narendra, please be gentle when you answer
Thanks I will try it ,I was looking for such replys.

Allegro is nice, infact Ashik, Sooraj, Prasad and myself had conducted a
small seminar on that in Mar Baselios College of Engineering.
It is a good API, and it is similar to that of BGI.
And I guess it is pretty simple to start with Allegro, you can do a simple
web search.
I guess this question

if you have questions, the gamedev.net forums would be an awesome place
too..
and as for c++ on windows - for graphics the foss combo would be to use
Code::Blocks with MinGW ^__^ 3
This lug supports Windblows this is really insane unbearable ...what are
you guys into ? Windows supporter using a LUG ...
Narendra is totally right !

I guess friend we asked narendra to hold his tongue for 'WT*' he used and
not because he said this is not to be posted here or something like that,
and I guess he didn't say anything about it, he just meant to say that BGI
is outdated. And to use some other package.

Yes, Turbo C++ is outdated! Ancient by modern standards! It gives novice
students the impression that all programs are created in such an
environment.
Even if the students realise that it is outdated most of the practicals in
the labs of most Indian colleges use it. Therefore teachers are
