Is there any resource where I can check up on this bug
Amber,
Due to a Kernel bug ksoftirqd takes up 100% cpu
and server becomes inaccessible. Yes, kernel upgrade
will fix this. You can use kernel rpm to upgrade. May
have to revert back to old one if box doesn't come
back up with new kernel.

Hi
There are Perc 2 and Perc3 Controllers available
for RAID. These are SCSI controllers by Adaptec / AMI.
Depending on your requirement, you can make RAID 0 /1
/ 5 or 0+1 Usually except swap all others can be put
on RAID.

start the same app again on linux it would load up from the cache and take
less time to load. This is not the case with window
Hi folx,
I am trying to fine tune an app here with regards to its memory
and CPU usage. When I typically work on windows, I c the memory going up
by some amount when I run my app and coming back to the same level when
I shutdown the app. But on linux, the app takes some memory while
running
RAID0 and linear mode are there just for the sake of being there, they
can be talked of as the basic state of RAID.

Thanx for the response guys ..
I have experience of RAID on windows boxes, but that was a different
talk altogether.
Right now I have a couple of partitions on my linux box and have
narrowed down to mirroring/RAID1 using software, cud u suggest what all
should I put on RAID.
I have
