Been there, seen that. Problem 1) Not easy to compile. I want cinelerra which could compile on my machine with libraries of my choice. Have'nt been able to do that yet. 2) GUI is klunky, though I must say, it is the most featureful software in its catagory. dunno how tough would it be write GUI

Dear Guys Linux will never die , and so will the requirement . If you see Red hat can't sop desktop support , it make restrict due to finacial problems , but if famous red hat will stop some one else will grab the market , if we dream of running linux machines we got to have linux desktop
