Hi Mohit This is a great endeavour. Why don't you consider network booting your PCs? That way you won't need to install Linux in 500 machines. Just build a master image on a server and let all units share it. The local HDD can be used for swap, since 1GB might be a little low for, say, running

Sounds great. Network booting allows you to run complete distros only. It does not convert the PCs into thin clients. I am not talking about LTSP here. Fedora, for example, can easily be configured to network boot. The full distro. The advantage is single system imaging. You are all running the
