Apt or synaptic should get you the correct Acroread version. Maybe the repository that you are downloading from is broken. I use Acroread,xpdf and OpenOffice 1.13 for all my PDF needs. Although to be honest I have not tried to merge various pdf documents or manipulate PDf documents. I mainly use

Hi Was wondering if there are any GUI pdf software available for Linux - that enables one to a. Access existing PDF's and print them - XPDF seems quite ill equipped - I cannot seem to print an a3 size to an a4 or legal b. Allows one to merge various pdf documents c. Allows manipulation of PDf do
