All of the user management functions are passed the password in

Hi All,
We have got source files of odbcuser.dll from IPSWITCH for customization. We
are using SQL database as external database to store user information. We
got a strong requirement for encrypting the password stored in SQL now but
we don't know how to make IMAIL understand the encryption logic.
Thanks for the info. Is this software that installs on the Imail server or a
separate piece of hardware that sits in front of the server?
If you ran IMGate in front of IMail, your Imail would not even see these
attacks.

Does anyone have real world experience with this solution?

there is no solution within IMail at this time. What others have tried is
some firewall products (Checkpoint for one I think) can block and IP based
on errors it causes within a certain amount of time.

I was analizing our Imail logs to track down a separate problem, and I ran
across the log snippet below. Based on previous threads on this issue, it
appears as though this person is running through common email names to
verify users on the mail server. There are literally hundreds of examples

IMAP server has some issues with attachments as well. Uses the same MIME
parsing engine as the Web Messaging. You won't see the problem with a POP3
client as the client parses the MIME stuff. I tested awhile back with a trial
version of Communigate Pro and had no problems with WebMail and IMAP p

For this situation I've often created a mailbox for the address in
question, then set the max mailbox site to 1 byte, so it always bounces
with a mailbox full message. There's probably a better way, but this
does work.
