Been working with a client for whom we host email using IMail 8. We normally
add the IP block of their location to the 'Relay For' list for SMTP access,
but they are scattered all over the country and there are too many IPs to
keep adding.
I understand that we can set them up for SMTP Auth instead
You can do it with ASP scripting if you run an MS server.

Is this true? We have been using ODBC with IMail version 6 and now version

know.
Could someone at IMail confirm this please?

We want to monitor how long it has been since a user last checked their
email. Can't we just use the last modified date of the LASTLOG.IN file?

Is there an easy way to detect how many messages are in a user's folders?
I would like to use an ASP script or something similar to collect the count
and pass it on to my web pages.
Anyone know how to do this?
TIA

Here is what I'd like to do:
We currently use the IMail SPAM filering to sort suspected SPAM into a SPAM
folder for each user. All our users download with Outlook Express, so they
never see the SPAM folder unless they login
Did you fix him? NO.
Did I try to help? YES.
Not every config is as easy as another, and my advice was very good: start
with a simple setup and then move it out one step at a time. Simply breaking

Just FYI - ODBC is a real pain to configure if the database is not on the

couple machines I never could make the connection on. Try moving the
database to the machine you are setting up ODBC on and get it working there,

I noticed in this thread that some admins use BLOCK and some use NUL, which
I believe deletes the email. Is there a difference in these two options, and
if so is one less processor overhead or use less resources than the other?

Just for the record, we bought our IMail 8 upgrade from CDW and had it in
two days, ready to install. I don;t remember if it came by UPS or FedEx, but
it had the key we needed to download and install v8 from IPswitch website,
and saved us some $$ too.
I think I'd request a new CDW rep. Maybe call
How do you delete mail 7 days old, can that be automated in the system

Just did the upgrade to v8.0, shut off all SPAM control and everything seems
to be fine except Web Mail.
There are several domains on this server, each has its own IP address and a
custom WEB folder in each domain mail folder, I'll call them domain1.com,
domain2.com etc for this discussion.

So to install with no spam control, we need to turn off statistical
filtering, and no spam processing takes place, is that right?
Trying to avoid having customers missing anything when we first fire up v8.

Getting ready to upgrade from IMail6 to 8, want the first step to be as
transparent as possible. We currently have no SPAM software of any kind, and
use customer web pages for webmail.
What do we need to do upon the installation of version 8 that will turn off
all SPAM control and leave our curren
