drier areas. My late father was a person who planted every kind of
fruit tree here. Pomegranate is a bit of a failure here in the sense,
though we get the fruits, it ripens during the monsoon and is not so
good, they do turn red
The fruits on my plant are large some as large as 4 in length, I
think we can conclude that the sweeter ones are large.

The fruit in the first picture belongs to *Cucumis *(may be C. prophetarum),
a climber. The climber in the picture is sporting no leaves as they are
fallen. The plants in the other two pictures are different, not belonging to
the fruit.
