Hey Gang,
What are you using for scanning your computers
once you are given a windows error message. ie. program cant load
because of error XYZ. I have run chkdsk, but it seems Gateway has limit what
it can do on startup.
Thanks

Id rather be
Murray-
We do two things in Fort Dodge to
troubleshoot most errors on a computer:
1) Delete the users profile (after backup up the important parts like
the desktop and favorites)
2) Re-image computer and install all of the current Windows Updates.
From there, that usually
fixes
If this is Windows 2000 or XP try this:
Log in as Administrator, open a command prompt (or go to the
run command) and type in sfc /scannow This utility checks the integrity of all
of your protected system files, and will replace any that are corrupt. You may
need your OS CD.
With the addition of new computers, I am starting to a pull on the
circuits as they use more amps, thus pulling things offline/powering
down and rebooting. (That is the extent of my electrical
knowledge). Are you still using battery back up systems, or do you
have some type of in house
Jackie,
I still use battery backups. We have been looking into a building UPS system,
but have not found a good solution. Our solution now is to bring more power
into the areas that seem to have low voltage. We still keep backups on all
critical equiptment.

We still use battery backups but over the years have rewired all of our labs
and they all have their own breaker boxes. I feel that you must consider
strategically adding more power to certain areas, everytime we remodel a room
or lab, we make sure it gets rewired and we add outlets.
Thanks,
