I have info in column A, (which will not change).

I don't know without looking at your spreadsheet but you might be
able to use a Macro in this situation. I'm not sure about using
macros and templates but you could try it.

I am not sure what you are going to do with the data after you have collected it. If
you plan on exporting the data to other programs it would work better to have the
information organized in row instead of columns. Also I am not sure if sorting works
horizontally in excel
