Wow Richard,
To my knowledge, with your reception of 171-RMI, you are the first DXer
to ever receive an African LW station on an Ultralight radio in North
America (at least since we started the ULR Awards Program)-- and you
did it from Oklahoma!
Congratulations on your 4th Longwave-TA, and

It won't be a record, but because I didn't remember to set up the 2010 for
1540, and seeing Saul's email late, I set up the Grundig G8 barefoot on 1540,
as a hopeful effort.
I was rewarded by a fade-up of perhaps 3-4 minutes starting 0122 with a jazzy
guitar version of a holiday classic
Things seemed to be more auroral here in Alberta, being a bit further
north, with the strongest station on 1540 being KMPC from CA, rather
than the the regular KXEL. Plenty of IBOC noise from KFBK didn't help
either.Heard zero from the first test, but was rewarded with some

I didn't even bother trying for this one, because of local virtually
un-nullable CHIN. WYTH-1250 test next week is another no-go for me because
of JOY-1250.

A great test indeed! Thanks to Saul and everyone involved in setting this test

1540 is generally a channel to avoid here, thanks to the power trio of CHIN,
WDCD and KXEL - they all blast me with their nighttime DA's. You guys down

On reviewing all of the recordings, I also heard code ID's at the beginning of
the second test, although much weaker. Otherwise, the 1539 het was the biggest
problem, although WDCD was noticeable by format a few times.
I was very fortunate to get the 0121-25 fade-up. Had there been a voice ID

Heard 5 or 6 CW IDs, several address announcements and some Christmas music,

Yes, it was a great fun DX Test. I was surprised the difference between
the 0100 and the 0200 tests. I could barely get the morse code during
the first test. It was there, but I was wondering if I could get a QSL
out of it, as copying the code was impossible, it was so weak, plus
even hearing it
Willis,
So yours was the opposite. The first WKVQ was stronger? I guess the
distant skip got better by 0200. As the test at 0100 was very poor. I am
glad Craig ran two tests. That would be nice if more stations ran the 2
teats.
