It may indeed work. It's not the voltage that is important, but rather the current. At the low current we require, there will be low losses and therefore may work. There are schemes where DC is sent down the coax to switch relays etc at the coax/antenna junction. If that works, using ground as

Mark Connelly or one of the guru's likely has a better answer - I have been using a very vanilla arrangement with the power coax going directly to the termination - I do not think you could run the ground side of the connection via ground rods if that is what you are suggestion - at least with
