Colin, As you know I am going to be using this on a EWE, with one side of the control to a series of ground rods and the other to the end of the EWE. Does this matter? There may be some current in the ground as the soil is so wet here and I live next to a swamp. I plan a new Western EWE at 20X115X20 in the backyard and I will be using the Vactrol there. On another note, I have that SW EWE I have had since 1981. I cannot run a cable through the land over to the end of it because in the Winter often the wire would be under 2-3 feet of wire as it is a swampy cattle raising field. Now, I wonder if I could attach a wire to the EWE and follow the end down to the far end, getting the power to it? I could avoid running wire through the lake out there in the Winter, also the cows could not step on it. But would the extra power cable running next to the EWE affect the operation of it? Any thoughts from anyone I am hoping the the new Western EWE will rival the SW EWE, as getting to the termination of the SW is not as easy as it once was with the electric fencing and all. Thanks.
