WYPC has been back on the air since last Tuesday (1/29) but

Theres some rule in there too that if it applies for more night pwoer then

I've been thinking back over the old three-letter calls and I think
St. Louis was, at least back in the 1960s, the only city with four stations
using three-letter calls. As I recall they had KSD-550, WEW-770, KWK-1380,
and WIL-1430. Of course I know the east better than the west,
I think KSD in St. Louis lost its three-letter calls when the radio and TV

the calls. What is now KTRS operated as KSDK for awhile, I think.

Subject: [IRCA] Tonight's SUNSET DX on Ultralight...2 NE
There's been somebody on 890 all evening in the WLS null mixing w/but usually
over the Cuban carrying ESPN. The only ESPN I have listed there in a log is
WAMG, Dedham, MA. Was on top at 9 p.m. (EDT) but silent through TOH ID break
in the ESPN feed. So is this likely Dedham, or somebody else?

890 WAMG MA Dedham got a good, clear ID 9/16/08, 2000 EDT; alone in WLS null
w/ESPN program, "890, ESPN, WAMG," & something about Boston. Seems a bit
surprising since MA is unusually difficult here & they are only running 3.4 kw.

country must be beamed directly away from us here in SE Ohio. WPRS used to run
the channel AN w/100 watts ND.

WMPM, Smithfield, 5 kw-D? The rel. could well have been WCGC, Belmont, which
is a bit of a pest here.

What about WKNR for the ESPN. They seem to do a little better here every
season at night. When we first moved here in 1994 the channel was dominated by
Johnstown, which is now never heard at all. In the late 1990s Birmingham
dominated at night, but it's now very rare. WKNR just seems to get

Actually, two suggestions come to mind for the CRTC. 1. Move CHIN to 1550 and
keep more of the signal in Canada. It is a major pest. 2. Either get CKNX to
move to FM or change its pattern. Nobody really wants to listen to it around
here, and it is getting to be more and more of a pest. It w

Wouldn't it be better just to re-negotiae the whole system? Canada, as my
friend Paul Chastko (from Calgary) once remarked, appears bent on killing AM,
except in its largest cities. An ever-increasing number of media choices, AM's
