Back at Burnt River for a week of dx, I notice a low-pitch hum on all channels.

well enough to log it. I note a pause between the calls and "Rockwood" before
it goes into network news. I can't accuse this station of a rapid-fire ID
I've posted two clips are of the same station on 910 online.
I'm presuming Mexico because it came in with other Mexicans and it was a huge
SRS morning to Mexico from Burnt River, and the only time I think I've ever had
a Latin American station on 910 without it obviously being Cuba or Venezuela
Political talk seems right wing and is on my west directional antenna
Seems much weaker than undercover radio usually used, and Antioch Chicago

Paul also wonders if my WBTK-sounding ID on 1570 is in fact KTVK. I can hear
the VTK but am hearing the first call as a W but it's choppy and maybe

Finally nabbed this most-wanted target with an anthem noted at 0108 and lasting
for several minutes, fading and then gaining strength, followed by solid legal
ID and "la poderosa" slogan. It's still in //web with Mexican music
Previous heard only when I was a teen in Toronto, so new at Burnt Rive
Four unIDed graveyarders from the few days prior to Christmas within clips
posted online. There's IDs from each, but borderline to the extreme. Before I
toss these into the graveyard of broken DX dreams, I'm posting them in case
anyone might be able to pull an ID or any info that leads to an ID.
880 has what I am almost certain is Mexico. The trick may be determining which
one. There's an anthem in these clips, which I think will establish that this
is Mexico, and not Cuba. Though much of the talk was about Cuba.

favourites for DXing? I'm looking to spend $150 or less -
optimally $50-$100 - and am looking primarily for comfort. Some pairs I've

Alessandro, a DXer in Italy, reviewed my clip of Spanish on 1560. I heard what
sounded like a phone number. He heard it as 0424 291
7323 and says that checks to Venezuela. The only YV station on
1560 is Radiodifusora Andina from Merida.
I'll give a fresh listen after sunset is done for. But a
Country and WTNS are not a problem, Jim - it is indeed country, and I think
that may be the same one with real country slogan as I also heard that. I don't
think I had Macon MO right then and there as I think it was still WTNS after an
ID a couple minutes earlier.
