Colin,
I wonder if he would be interested in their signal in the states?
Probably not, but CKOR has a great signal here after LSS most nights.
Their 500w gets out very well. I can get CKOR well with phasing out KGO.
But you are right no IBOC on KGO tonight. But their noise on 800/820 has

Colin,
KGO's HD hash is right on channel. It is hard to get rid of it. I am
glad it is off.

Colin Bill,
When KGO did their IBOC test last Winter, I called the CE and complained
about the hash in their audio. It may be the skip, but it is not fun to
listen to.

Still - the greatest puzzle of all is why they are flip-flopping with it.
As I've been saying on other lists, nighttime AM IBOC is still
experimental, in fact if not by law. While I have no hard knowledge to

I find this to be interesting. This indicates that IBOC may not work

I'd be careful with that particular jump of logic, since the problem in
this case (cuing talent in the field) isn't intrinsically an IBOC
problem. There are a lot of reasons other than IBOC
Actually, I was addressing the whole idea of IBOC requiring a delay. You
stated that stations shut off IBOC during ballgames because of the
delay. Since the station in question here also turned off IBOC because
of the delay indicates that it is a wider problem than just ballgames.
And yes, I

field - traffic reporters? news reporters? - is still listening to KGO

Well well. The GM of Rock 800 - CKOR wanted me to

And for what-ever reason, KGO is analog only tonight.

Have you sent an email to them?
To whom? KGO?
Heck No.
I am, however, running Black smoke up the Chimneys
as opposed to the Brown smoke.
I mean - the people need to know.

Hi all, k g o turned off their iboc this morning at 5 A M, and if the
pattern continues through the week-end, they probably won't turn the
iboc on until tomorrow evening at 7 but this is just a guess based upon
what happened last week-end.

ya kidding me right?
Maybe someone forgot... and they
might never turn on IBOC again...
Maybe this will happen to all the stations...
Seriously though - why are we wasting bandwidth on this?
Is not big deal - maybe they have had interference complaints.
I know for a fact that up here in

Colin, no kidding. It does not hurt to tell them that they are doing
something to make their signal more listenable.
I have complained to WBZ because THEIR SIGNAL is taking a hit from WHO's
IBOC despite the fact that WBZ itself is running IBOC.
By the way, I don't consider this to be a waste
