I've just received my christmas gift for my work: a nice Toshiba

I use the drivers 0.3.2 (a) with the last kernel (2.6.10).

Hi,
I have a PVR-500 that I am trying to set up and seem to be pretty close to
getting it running but I have a query about the Tuner.
I have had the card running in XP fine using various software capture options.
When I looked at the details in amcap it tells me the Tuner is a Philips
FQ1216A
yes.

you have the Philips FM1236 MK3
for the number it's in tuner.h
I think you need the patch I posted at the end of last week.
Or else opening and closing /dev/video16 should work
cat small.mpg > /dev/video16
Before starting X where small.mpg is a small mpg file.

-Hi all,
Sorry for posting one of these (super long) messages
but I am stuck and am at my wits end. I have been
following all of the posts as of late but have been

Hi,
Got it solved somehow...
Seems that the composite output of my PVR-350 (rev K257, tuner 38)
causes trouble: my TV can not synchronise in a stable manner
using the composite output, but with the s-video output it can.
So, now I'm a happy man: capture composite in, capture s-video in

I have had a couple of emails saying that my card should be supported.

this is the code you're hitting:
/* Register IRQ */
snprintf(itv->name, sizeof(itv->name)-1,
"ivtv%d", itv->num);
retval = request_irq(itv->dev->irq, ivtv_irq_handler,
SA_SHIRQ | SA_INTERRUPT,
itv->name, (void *)itv);
if (retval) {
IVTV_KERN_ERR(
?
the whole point of the pvrX50 series is that they
encode to mpeg2 in hardware.. mpeg1 can also be
selected, but it's much more restrictive as far as the
resolutions supported.

Hi,
Have anyone got the datasheet for the above tuner?
I've tried to find it on Phillips' various sites, but without luck so far.
Please note that the "FM1216" datasheet in circulation is not the same -
at least the control registers are different for the "ME MK3" variant.
I'd be very happy if s

The black and white s-video issue was bugging me, so I had a go at it.
Knowing that I was probably getting the luminance signal correct, but
was just lacking the chroma signal, I mucked around with changing the
input channels on the cx25840. I think I tried all combinations for
registers 0x10
Has anyone had any luck with getting the above tuner to work? I saw an
earlier thread with someone who claimed to have the same tuner, but I
was a little unsure if Leo really had it working. I have tried type 43
as well as a slew of other ones (including type 39 as per the previous
thread).
