reboot with the numpad plugged in, seem to do the trick. I am now able to use the cursor
keys and the Jaws key okay now. However, I notice that I cannot do a read current word,

I have the same problem with the number pad I purchased for use with this ThinkPad using
XP Pro using Jaws versions 5 through 7. I think it may be something to do with the codes
the number pad transmits. The other issue I had was that it kept repeating numlock
on with each press.

I have JAWS 6.0 and XP.
In I.E., I can't organize my favorites in alphabetical order.
I did it once but do not remember how.
I have played around with every item in the menu bar but can not find the

Thank you for any help.

Hi Rich,
Just open up the favourites menu, then press the applications key to the
left of the right control key.
Once you do this, Jaws may not speak that the applications menu is open, but
don't worry, just arrow up or down and you'll find it is open.
Once you find that it is open, just
Rick, I don't get it. That link brings you to the main Adobe screen. It

Hi Jason,
what I think happened with the num pad is that when you plug it in, your
computer conflicts with the function key ability to create a num pad on the
laptop's keyboard.
This, I believe, is a common thing with all laptops, except the ones that have
a full sized keyboard.

1. Open the submenu you want to sort. I'm pretty sure that you have to do
this on a submenu-by-submenu basis.
2. Press the Applications key. Press UP ARROW twice until you hear Sort by
Name. Press ENTER.
There is a registry hack that will sort _all_ of your Favorites and submenus

John,
Just download version 8 and install it. On installation, adobe recognizes
that you have adaptive technology installed and will ask you what kind,
screen magnification or speech.

I tried this but could not find the sort by button.
While in I.E. I hit the menu bar to get to favorites then hit the
application key. This didn't work.
So, I hit on organize then hit the application key.
Every way I tried, I could not arrow or tab to get the sort by button.
Would that button

A quicker way to get to the favorites folder is:
1. Press windows key R
2. Type in favorites and press enter.
3. This puts you directly in your favorites folder and then you can put them
in to folders if you like.
