Hi List,
I want to turn off the JAWS announcement of the file notification such as: file
extension, how many KB, date of creation etc.
I only want the file name announcement, but can't seem to find the setting to
do this job.
Any idea?
Thank you.

HI Folks,
I didn't see this come through to the list, so I thought I'd repost it just in
case.
I keep hearing the scripts for Jaws say that you can turn off the extra help
verbosity by pressing the plus key to turn them off, when ever I start GoldWave.
Obviously, this would be the plus key on
Hi, I use the laptop layout all the time, and it's a lot more easier as
the caps lock key is used as your JAWS key, as well as the insert key,
so you've got the best of both worlds I guess. Hope that helps.

A friend purchased a laptop and was going to find a way to downgrade from the
already-installed Windows Vista Business, because we heard Jaws 9 wouldn't work
well with Vista Business but might work okay with Home or Premium. Well he
went ahead and installed Jaws and other programs and while I
Whilst I am currently using JAWS Version 8, with an update to Version 9 in the
near future, what version of Nero Ultra is the most accessible?
Furthermore, are all the individual programs found in this version of Nero
Ultra accessible and if not, which are?

Hi Kathy,
Personally, I never use the calendar features on my computer but One
option might be to use the calendar in Office Out Look. I am a little
ignorant on this one.

Hi,
While Jaws 9 will work fine with Vista Business, one thing that you should
be aware of is that if you buy a system with Vista Business, you will
require a license for Jaws Professional to work with it.
Only Vista Home Basic and Vista Home Premium work with a Jaws standard
license. If you
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the info, I'm going to try this on my PC with Office 2003.

Hi Jitendra,
Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for.
Frankly, I don't mind the grave key being used instead of the plus key, I
just needed to know what keystroke would do this.
I'm wondering if you'll be including a set of keystrokes for laptops in the
help files?
This would sure
Well,
It depends really on which version of Jaws I think you have. If you have
the Pro version it should not be much of a problem. But the standard
version of Jaws will work with only Home and Home Premium. I am in the
market for a laptop could you send me a link as to where to look at this
Hello there,
I believe Nero 8 is the most current and as far as I know all programs are
accessible except for the media stuff which if you do a custom install you
can get rid of.

I'm told that there is a way to have Jaws turn off when you enter certain
programs like games which don't require Jaws. In fact, some games won't work
unless you turnh Jaws off completely. The arrow keys are inhibited.
Does anyone know the procedure for arranging to have Jaws turn off when

Hello
I could not replicate your problem using my jaws 8 and IE7. As far as I
could tell the whole page read appropriately. Jaws reads keyword input edit
on the search field and a search button and reset button are read below
this. Pressing control down arrow read the rest of the page fine.
