After changing to a different voice that doesn't support changing pitch, I
wanted to set JAWS to announce uppercase letters by saying "CAP" with the
letter. I know this existed in version 5.1, but I can't find it now. Where is
it located?

Maria,
If possible, I would see about updating to the latest JAWS 9.0.2169 as
there were other bug fixes, enhancements and features that will make the
experience that much better.
Thanks,

I am just getting started with Firefox 3, but I have problems with tab

Just don't discuss it on here, what you do on your own time is none of my

hi, there,
If you go into the JAWS main help system, there is a book entitled "Using
the Internet with JAWS". It talks mostly about IE, but the keystrokes for
Firefox are almost the same, with a few minor exceptions. As has already
been pointed out, if you have Firefox 3 you cannot access JAWS
Hi, Donald,
Oh, interesting. I have the same problem. I didn't notice it until you
pointed it out, as I generally don't access JAWS help on the fly. However,
if you know the IE keystrokes, Firefox is pretty similar. :)

Hi Riley,
If you install JAWS 9.0, JAWS 5.10 will stay installed on your system. You will
be able to access both versions, as there will be 2 icons in your start menu
and on your desktop. One for JAWS 5, and the other for JAWS 9. So, you do not
have to do anything in preparation, just go for it

Hi,
Sounds like focus issues. These often occur when there is a problem with the
JAWS Video Intercept manager or with your video card. Also, this can occur if
any screen size or resolution changes are put in place.

I recently bought a Dell laptop, and I had a great deal of problems with
JAWS reading things as well. Mostly, I noticed that JAWS could not read

Hi, this sounds like an issue to do with your video card and associated
drivers. If you can, update the video card to the latest drivers. This can be
gotten from your computer manufacturer's website or the Microsoft Update site.
Hope this helps.
