OS: Windows Vista SP1
JAWS version: 9.0.2169
When I checked Automatically start and pressed OK, it said "couldn't open
service manager".
Why and how to fix it? Thank you!

I'm not Don, but I can give you my reasons.
1. version 8.1 of Adobe reader works fine for me, just as it is,
so there's no clear reason to update, unless the current version
reaches a point where it will not open newer pdf files.
2. As has been experienced by many users, with different app
You have to have Jaws pro and the remote access is an additional $200. Also
in order to do this on another machine you would have to have jaws on that
machine as well.

Yes, you can still go back to jfw 5 if you don't like jaws 9. You do not
have to uninstall it.
