You can do that a few ways. you can look at the properties for a
folder, rout jaws to pc and page down will tell you for a file, or go
into the default . jss file for jaws. And set the verbosity setting
to say tool tips. then when you arrow to a folder or file it will tell you.

Chrissy it use to work fine but since the captchas are in there now it
doesn't work. I use to navitgate the rooms just fine before the captchas

I've come across this problem quite a bit with JAWS 9 in both Word 2003 and
2007. When reading line by line or word by word in MS Word, JAWS will read
one word/line then when I go to the next word/line it will repeat the same
word/line again and totally skip the actual next word/line.

What! This is actually part of the JAWS scripts for Windows Live, and not
Messenger Plus itself. To prove it, load another screen reader and see what
happens. With NVDA, for example, I don't hear any typing sounds, but I hear
messages coming in and out.

The messenger plus is an add on to windows live messenger, not a stand alone
messenger and not an official add on though.
I have it installed and it does automatically read the text messages as they
come in. Also it will announce 'so and so ist typing a message', and this is

Hi, mine is talking fine when it's updated. I must admit that I don't
receive updates daily, however I presume it's because there aren't many new
viruses going around at the minute. Antivirus companies will only distribute
updates for their software when new viruses are "in the wild". Hope this
I'm using the keyboard that came with my Optiplex 755. It's a standard Dell
keyboard, model number SK-8115, with 105 keys and set for UK use. As far as I
understand, the features that I've mentioned are within Word or Windows XP,
rather than being functions of the keyboard.

I am sorry to bother you all with this, but the balloons are not even coming up
in windows.
Not only is jaws not speaking them!
I wish I knew what I did wrong.
My bf said there was a way to test the balloons out however when unplugging the
ethernet cable it does not give a balloon notific
