Hi, Karen
I have my browser set to keep my history of visited sites set for one
day. It used to be for 20 days but a friend of mine told me that
clearing your history at least once a month or so helps protect you
against hackers that might be trying to get on your computer. I don't
know if it's re
Do you mean you are trying to clear the browsing history in your Browser? If
this is what you are trying to do, why not just set the number of days to
store previously visited web sites to zero under Internet Options which is
located in the Tools menu. You can always reset this if you want it to
I don't know whether the upgrades affect this particular issue or
not. It isn't in the list of fixes.
What I am understanding is
1. When you start to type an address you have used in the past, I.E.
completes it for you.
2. JAWS reads this in words, not characters.
3. You don't mind the add
I am trying to clear history of google advanced search and Jaws says it is
doing that but when I go back to put in what I want in edit field the old
addresses still come up. How to clear it?/is that part of address problem?

Are you using the most recent version of JAWS10? I haven't installed

The problem may well be that when I.E. displays the address, JAWS
sees it as complete words and reads it back that way. You can
temporarily change typing echo with insert and numbers row 2,
toggling between the choices. If changing typing echo does what you
want, then verbosity is the culprit
I have never used it so I can't comment.
I still use Wordperfect13, but among the free processors, I prefer
abiword which looks like word. Jaws still has problem to recognize its
workspace correctly but I hope somebody will write a little script to
avoid this issue.

Ann, in the ie options, the first one under auto complete said web sites

said aloud as I type rather than letters. Very unnerving as I lose track of
what I'm typing. Maybe this is a verbosity issue. I'm reluctant to get
That's why Jarte is a better alternative to Open Office for word
