This may not work with this issue but I frequently plug in a flash drive and it does not show up but if I press the letter key for the brand of the drive it shows up. For example, I have a Luxor flash drive so I plug it in and go to the computer on the destop and open it. There is no flash drive

Local PC shops will just use software you can use yourself for free. I have had success with data recovery software out there that will recover the data. Especially if it is just a corrupt partition. It has been a few years since I had to do this so you should do a Google search for the best
