someone mentioned there is a way in the config editor of thunderbird to
make the jaws cursor work like it used to.
Can someone post which things need to be enabled or disabled for this to
work?

Yes please! I'm forced to use Thunderbird at the moment, for various
reasons which I won't go into, and the jaws scripts for it are
irritating the hell out of me!

Not for me it don't. Can I create a filter to move messages from certain
lists into folders, can I heck!

these changes affect FF's or TB's interface to be more accessible, so
the version of JAWS or any other screen reader, I don't think, has any
baring. so... no, it shouldn't be necessary. once the changes are made,
they should persist, even when upgrading FF or TB. but it would be good
