sounds like you have to copy the tools.jar from the 1.4 jdk to your
tomcat dir overwriting the old 1.3 version.

try jdbc:mysql://localhost/test instead.
if this doesn't do the trick, the root pwd could also be wrong.

connected with the jdk and not with the servlet engine (i tried

do i have to localize the jdk or something like that?

most often this is an issue connected to the user/password
used. try to connect from the commandline via mysql and the
user/passwd you want to use. and use the machine jboss is
running on. perhaps you lack the needed permissions for
remote connections to mysql.

hi all,
i just unsucessfully tried to integrate jikes to compile my
jsps under tomcat/jboss. anyone out there who did this
successfully? just uncommenting in tomcat/conf/web.xml didn't
do the trick.
used version is jboss 2.2.2 & tomcat 3.2.2 integration.

for myself. my first production-deployment with jboss is
still in the future and i'm going to have a discrete number
of users which i can forecast. (no internet app)
and for development i don't think this is a serious matter.

both files are read for user logins. they do not set

sounds like jboss/client/ejb.jar.
what you have to include depends on the features you are using
in your application. all jars in client/ are possible candidates.
i normally include jnp-client.jar, jbosssx-client.jar, jboss-client.jar
and ejb.jar for my (not very spectacular) apps.

sounds like you should include jboss/client/jnp-client.jar in

not a valid return type. i'm not sure if this solves your
