As someone previously mentioned it, this feature is more intended to power users, allowing them to quickly input manual commands. It would not hurt to enable it by default. And offering the possibility to disable it from the menu would allow some unaware users do discover it ? Paul

Hi Bob -- I think this is pretty slick & especially nice for hard-core users (those who are using the command language and needing to type), but I also think that it would be distracting for casual users So, I would vote for making it "off" by default and leaving it to the knowledgeable user(
