I am assuming this also includes SCB. If that's the case then its ok and
further you need to check on SCBE (New one) and currently installed MPC/DPC
compatibility.
If not then please check with Juniper if RE-S-1800x4 supports SCB (Old one) (my
guess is it will not) and then MPC/DPC compatibilit
64-bit junos version will give you support for larger Routing Engine memory
sizes. so if you think the routing table will consume more memory you can
upgrade. I have MX5 32-bit junos with 2 BGP sessions with full routes.
You can check the 64-bit supported routing engine in following link:

Hi Mike,
Will it be possible for you to share a bit more information on the type of
setup you are planning. Will it be a DC, an Office HQ, or for any
ISP.
Reason being is:
1. You need 10 Gig connectivity with your ISP.
2. You want full routing tables.
3. Number of ISPs you are planning to h
Hey Matt,
we have couple of EX2200 VC running in our infra. JUNOS version 12.3R3.4.
Few things to keep in mind:

2. Make your VC as 'preprovisioned', so that 'you' can decide what part the new

Hi All,
I need to configure a GRE tunnel on a 10 gig interface of DPC - DPCE-R-4XGE-XFP.
As per juniper document "Ethernet and tunnel interfaces cannot coexist

Just need to check how many PFE do these DPCs have. (AFAIK it

AFAIK, there is no such config or any hidden knob count the dropped packet.
If this is a test scenario you can do following (this is just an imagination
which i had):
on an interface you want to see the storm control dropped packet you can graph
that interface for couple of hrs or days, in an

Hi Isidoro,
I guess the RE is hot insert-able. You just need to be sure that the JUNOS
version on both the RE should be same (if you intend to run GRES and NSR). But
to be safe you should do it in a maintenance window.
The primary RE (1st) should be in slot 0 and backup RE (2nd) should be in s
