I think I may have replicated, in that I got log entries with task
blocked for more than 120 seconds, very similar to the above logs. And
the apparmor_parser could running ps on the system did show several
apparmor_parsers waiting. However it did not crash nor did the
apparmor_parser instances hang
Installed "ubuntu 1404_HWE_EOL" update. Other packages updated with it
since nothing has been updating since Aug because ubuntu 1404_HWE_EOL
update was holding it up.
Problem still exists with the keyboard backlight coming on when the

my laptop completely freezes after login in sddm (that means: while KDE

I found on Ubuntu forums that the contents of
etc/modprobe.d/trackpad.conf file should be:

I spoke too soon.While on my Ubuntu 16.10 laptop there hasn't been any
usb reses, the problems still persist on the 16.04 NUC when booted
through a 16.10 live session:

I just plugged in the drive into my laptop running Ubuntu 16.10 and
there are no reset with the drive and no workaround needed.
