Yes, the torpedo tip tanks. One doesn't leak but has a number of patches and

Jeff, I always look for your comments in this forum. Keep it up and don't
get hung up over the replies that bug you. As a new builder, (and a mechanical
engineer of over 25 years), I learn something new every other day in this
forum. I am grateful to those who have the experience and are willi
I believe the FAA requires 7" with a critical tyre flat. So if you have a nose
pusher you need to deflate the nose tyre and check the clearance.

It is not the VW, it is the KR and how much clearance you have to the
ground. I have heard that level, you should have 9", but I suppose that
with a nose gear, you could clear it with what makes you comfortable.

If you had a glass spinner it was likely it came from our molds. We have the

In the statement below, are you talking about tip tanks?

We are working on a Bonanza that never burned
auto fuel at any time, that is leaking in several places because of pin
holes and delamination.
2 months ago my wife and I took a trip in our 172. The prop had been
over-greased a little and it through some out into the spinner, loading it
on one side slightly. It broke the spinner seriously. It did not come apart
fortunately. It is an aluminum spinner with no forward bulkhead.

The spinner and back plate on my KR1 is off a stock Cessna 150 and it
has held up well over the years and I currently have about 600hrs on it.

My 1835cc Hapi engine had the flywheel replaced when it had 500 hrs on

Sorry Jeff, not trying to degrade your Knowledge or the owners

Thanks Tim, this should tell everyone to "never" for any reason put any
level of Ethanol in your airplane, or anything else if you can help it.

KRneter's, corrosion is a serious problem with Ethanol as is destruction of
rubber and Fiberglass components. This is real guys but the real serious
problem with Ethanol is water. Ethanol gulps up water at a hi rate and it
phase separates at altitude and temp. You don't get to choose where. A big

I have a friend who has had several race cars. He said they tested the 100LL
against 93 octane auto gas and the auto gas came out with more horse power on

When ethanol was first introduced in the 1980s, some cars experienced
deterioration of some elastomers (rubber-like parts) and metal fuel system
components. Very quickly, manufacturers upgraded their fuel systems so that
today, they are now all compatible with ethanol fuels..Yeah, but I don

Mine was bad after 50 hours. I bought the engine used with a log book. The
story goes that the KR was wrecked by a moving company. Sold for parts and I
got the engine. Tiny crack only found with die penetrant . Replaced with Great
Plains.
