Arrived home from Oshkosh on Saturday and just now had the time to make a
posting. To the un-initiated, if you don't think this is a big country, try
driving across it for a few days.
I did manage to get to the KR Forum on Monday morning; had to leave early to

Terry Chezik will be having his annual Fish Fry/BBQ on Saturday Aug 17th

before then. Several planes fly into this event from around the KS and MO area

Rob,
I have not seen the NTSB report. Vapor lock came from the FAA. If you look
at the picture of the firewall prior to the crash, with oil all over it, you
will see that I did not have a heat shield on the gascolator. I'm thinking
that the increased airflow, after takeoff, may have moved more

Brad,
Sorry for your loss, glad to hear the pilot is fully recovered. Good
summary and pictures to help understand the accident. The NTSB report is
curious, vapor lock? What were the temperatures in May when the 1st flight was
done? I seem to recall it was a pretty cool May, at least around

Don't be too quick to give up on your project. The glue joints in my
KR are 23+ years old and have 500 hour of flight time on them. They

I plan on using the aeroinjector with a corvair engine in a gravity fed system.
This is?a basic slide carb with a single adjustable jet. According to
aeroconversions you can use this with a fuel pump but pay close attention to
the install diagram. They show a return line on the pressure side goi

Interesting & sad to see it so busted up. Glad the pilot walked away.
I started mine in '95 or '96? It's been sitting for 6-7 years.
Am thinking about getting going again after retirement (about 5 years).

Some of you know that the KR I started in 1974, resurrected on 2005, and
expected to fly to Mt Vernon this year, was destroyed on its first
"official" test . I have several pictures and some comments on the
integrity of the design, at http://www.krnet.org/krs/bankerstar/.

It is a "throttle body" and yes you do not need a fuel pump. Whether or not
you CAN use a fuel pump, I am not sure, but I think that when I had one, I
was using a fuel pump with it. It does not require anything to run it,
except the proper amount of fuel flow. I assume you have a gravity feed
