Thanks Roger. I wondered about that, seems like it would take at least a full turn or more to bottom the needle. Chris On 11/2/2015 6:07 AM, Roger via KRnet wrote: > Chris > > The Tillotson does not have a idle cutoff per say, but all fuel going > to both the idle and main circuit has to go th

Ok guys.. now I am a little confused.. I am new at this game, I just finished my ground school and going over my class work we went thru power plants for air craft. The picture that I saw of the KR was a gas turbine with a prop on it.. Yes? So, correct me if I am wrong, that would indicate that

That's correct Bill, A gas turbine producing thrust via a propeller is a turbo prop. A turbo jet uses a Newtonian reaction from exhaust gases for thrust. Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android From:"Bill Wood via KRnet" List-Post: krnet@list.krnet.org Date:Wed, 4 Nov, 2015 at 13:30 Subject:KR> Jet v

Hi everyone. I got a dose of reality this past week. I saw in the news that Fred Thompson had past away, he was 73, the same age as I am. I liked Fred, he seemed to be an upright guy and I have no reason to doubt that he was. Anyway, it got me to thinking about my life. I have come just that clo

Turbo fans and turboprops typically are dual spindle with the aft turbine section driving the fan or prop and the forward turbine section driving the compressor...true jets are typically single spool...pretty inefficient. https://sites.google.com/site/mykr2stretch/ https://sites.google.com/site/my

I don't think that's a fair way of delineating between the kinds of jet engines. Multi shaft turbines are common in all types of turbine installations. Turbofans are always at least dual, and sometimes three spindle engines. Though in at least two cases, the "fan" part, isn't coaxial with the gas

Then there is the turbo-ramjet on the SR71. No traditional bypass, and yet also in afterburner all the time, yet efficient! This very cool video makes even a layman such as myself understand the basics... https://youtu.be/F3ao5SCedIk > Date: Wed, 4 Nov 2015 09:57:00 -0600 > To: krnet at list.k
