Hi Mark,
I had high temps on my Revmaster -didn't know what all-so I fitted an
adjustable outlet flap to the lower cowling, I fitted a new spring to the
pressure relief valve (don't ask -a VW specialist advised me). Fitted a VW
oil cooler to the top side.
Had an ex RAF test pilot to do the checks
Check with Colin Hales -I think he used a Jabiru crossing the pond. Though
I think he had engine problems on his trip to Australia ...

I had this discussion with our PFA engineers in UK, and they told me that
any unwanted blank holes in the spar should be plugged with a bolt shank.
The theory being that a wooden dowel could compress and weaken the spar..

I had the same problem -I had no SCAT duct either.
I put it down to using aviation oil in the Revmaster. I also added an
adjustable cowling exit duct and enlarged the inlet ducts.
Don't know which of these worked, but my test pilot complained because the
oil temps were too LOW .just

I my case my overheated Revmaster quit on base and I had to dive to get
speed enough to get over trees on the threshold!
I put mine down to :
1- intakes too small.
2-outlet ditto.
3-use of aviation oil instead of recommended multigrade.

Hi Don, I would suspect your tank vent,- if it's close to the cowling you
may be in a negative pressure zone.

abstruse theories,-overhauled the mags, changed the harness, played with
carb needles, jets for ever, till I ran her up with carb heat on
and -problem gone! Couldn't believe it as we've just gone thru our hottest

I had the same problem,- fitted the Revmaster modified breather last week
and it seems to work,- on ground runs anyway.
