The radiator is in the rear of the fuselage with an inlet in the belly like
a P51. The weight and balance came out great running from 8 to 12 inches from
the leading edge. I was just wondering if I could run something like 1" by 4"

Replace the spar and then you will know your worries are over. When I
decided to go with the new AS5046 airfoil, I had to cut my center main
spar loose and raise it to meet the corr
I agree with everyone else. As a truss engineer, the best solution for a
member who's crack runs along the span is to replace it. Especially when
you're at 10,000 feet and are experiencing turbulence over the sierra's
from a thunderstorm nearby.
Replace and have piece of mind.

Speaking as a Professional Engineer, your only safe course of action
is to replace the spar. I do not believe that you could ever make a
satisfactory repair. When the bracket failed, all of the load was
transferred to the remaining bolts which split the wood. The bracket

You could use West Systems to repair the crack. I can
guaranty that it won't fail at the repair if done
right. Your only problem is to find out why it failed.

place or he put the holes to close to the edge or each
