I'm not a KR builder but have always really liked them. I do fly Sport Pilot and any airplane that meets the speed, weight etc you can fly as Sport Pilot. The best thing is to build an experimental that meets the requirements and that's all you need. I wouldn't bother with any type LSA

Briefly, according to FAA regulations - If you build at least 51% of a KR2S per plans you may apply for certification as an E-AB (Experimental-Amateur Built). As the builder, you may then apply for a "Repaiman Certificate" for that specific plane. That will allow you to do an annual condition
