Paul, I've used the iFly 700 since Lowrance had problems with their updates.  I love it and wouldn't consider any thing else.  I use it for both VFR & IFR however I must admit that I'm an old steam gauge pilot and don't have a glass panel.  Merry Christmas to you and all the KRNet.

How about some feedback from those of you out there who have use these, or are currently using these? I have only basic VFR instruments, Mag Compass, Altimeter, Airspeed indicator, in my airplane, so any navigation source has to be a step up. specially if it is true plug and play, and does

If you just want GPS and other informaiton then this unit is fine, though it won't replace your other insturments or give you IFR. Many of these less expensive units do not come with an artifical horizon or replace any of the 6 pack. They simplly allow you better navigation and will do what you are

I also bought one. I have a limited flight range I use it in but have found it to be very handy for VFR use and easier to read the larger screen than my hand held/dash top GPS car units. The sectional background makes for a familiar and useful. My next worry with it will be the feds charges for dig
