When Antje talks about moving the lace she is unpinning the lace off of the pattern and moving it to the top of the same pattern. The pattern does not move. When most of us talk about moving the lace we are putting the felt or styrofoam under the last inch or two of the pattern we are working

I use a variation of Jeri's method. Instead of bundling the bobbins together I pin the threads firmly and in their order to the cloth beneath bobbins and thread. Then I bundle the bobbins in the cloth and pin the bundle to the pillow. as Jeri does. It is probably a slower process but a

Joy - thanks for reminding me about Gene Stratton-Porter (it really is Gene, short for Geneva). My favouritest of all her stories is Michael O'Halloran which I read a lifetime ago, for the first time and have read over and over since. Another of her books is Laddie which I really enjoy too.
