Hello Everybody,
At our Kunsthalle I found a magnet with The lace-maker from Caspar
Netscher on it.
Manufactored by Customworks.
It is a big serie with famous pintings on them. If you are interested
in live in or nearby a city with an art museum it's worth to have a
look.
Good luck

Dear Friends:
I would imagine this would be a wonderful and fun thing to do. I have often
thought this could be set up. In fact, it might be nice to include others,
such as embroiderers, piecers, etc. Our lacemaking numbers are few, and
pretty spread out. I miss going to CT to Barb

Hello lace-friends,
Have a look into Newsweek from january 23, 2006 on page 55 ICON about a
book of Carmen Miranda, never heard before, sorry, there is a picture
of her with a wonderful piece of lace, probably a fan, as decoration of
her hat,

I attend sewing night every Monday at my friend's
house. She has a bed breakfast, so she has two very
large tables in her adjoining dining rooms with lots
of room to spread out projects. She is usually
working on an 1860s dress or trimming a bonnet.
Others work on period clothing, crocheting,
I'd love to join you Bev, but I'm going to the meeting of my
dollhouse/miniature club tonight - first time I've attended since Sept.
I do need some kind of encouragement to get back to the Beds motif
that's on my pillow. I haven't touched it since Nov. and it's really,
really complicated.
Oops, I just reread my posting and I got the time differences mixed up.
When it's 8 here, it's 4 on the west coast and 12 in the UK.

of members who joined after Jane's list. Let me know off list and I can

2005 I have held a 'Lace Ladies 'At Home' Day
every month,
My good lace friends were talking one day about lace
meetings. We have one the first week of the month,
the second week, and the last week (in three different
towns nearby).
I'm here, I'm here - well I've been here for the last couple of hours, but
not reading my e-mail because I've been working on my lace. Now as it's
6:30 I decided I'd stop and make supper and check if there had been any
messages.
Off to cook my lamb chop and vegetables, then back to my cat
Hi everyone, and hi to Lindy, Irene, Alice, Margot, Joan, and Malvary,
who joined me at my first virtual lace meeting.
Here's how it works - anyone who'd like to do one, pick your date and
time, and let the list know. If everyone who is interested contacts
the hostess close to the start time, she

From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm PST today (Jan. 26) I'm going to be at my lace

find the right thread first).
I'll check my e-mail from time to time in case

T and all,
I did send them email to find out how many one would have to order, and how
much they cost per each; also what the shipping cost would be to the US.
I'll post if/when I get a response from them. I'm up for ordering the
minimum number and then making them available at my cost to anyone
Hi All!
I have a really good time this week! We have the Czech and Slovak museum
here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and they asked several of us from different
guilds to come view pieces of lace and fiber arts that they had in storage.
They want some us us to try and chart some of the discounted
Hi all!
I read the messages about the commemoratives, and I thank you all for the
nice things you all said. I agree that we should see if there is any
interest from anyone else wanting to put a bid in. I would be doing what I
had done in the past, offer two different woods, Maple and Ebony,
I read only the front-page news and the business section; DH reads the

I went back to Cherry's message and saw the attached pictures... It's
not the same thing, afterall; Cherry's lace is not thread lace
imprinted in porcelain (old hat, however much touted on the
anthropologie site); it's lace _made_ of porcelain strands... Much more
interesting...

Already thought of for the consumer market - you can buy magnetic
sheets coated with paper that can be run through an inkjet. I got one

You could also print the logo or picture onto regular or photo paper,

I hope you will give a bit more notice of these Virtual Lace Days, as some
of us are in a Very different time zone, ! I missed this one as I have just
received the Digest form of Arachne, and although it is 4.30pm here in
Melbourne, I know it is 10.30 in Denver.
No idea what it is in Sooke at
Regarding the 'on-line meeting' It was a fun experiment, and of the
moment - if I was to plan to do one, say, next week - I would probably
miss it, due to an ever-changing family schedule. And yes, I know many
are on the digest.
However, please, anyone - consider initiating such a meeting at your
Good afternoon spiders,
I've been reading the thread about lace related magnets and would
suggest you view our SA Branch Australia Lace Guild web page where we have,
among other things, some lace magnets. The address is:

The following came to me with frills; 5 pictorial attachments, all of
which were cute but which didn't contribute a whole lot to the
content of the message, while making it 350KB large. But the joke
itself was funny enough to merit rewriting into plain text (and please,
